Episode 107: Entrepreneurs Who Grew 6+ Figure Businesses With Brad Hart

Brad joined his first mastermind at the age of 25, a year after he lost his dad. That was a difficult time, because he didn’t have counsel and people to turn to and it wasn’t easy then to just hop online and join a community. He was inspired by the successful people in that first mastermind and realized that masterminds were something he could grow into. Now 11 years later, he’s been a part of 30 masterminds and started a dozen of his own from free and invite only up to 100K/year. It has really changed and solidifed who Brad is as a person and connected him to networks and solutions to problems that he never knew existed.

Brad’s initial challenge in setting up a mastermind was undercharging. He has since 10x the price, so his advice is don’t undersell yourself out of the gate. If you’re uncertain of the value of your offer, focus on adding more value, bring in expert speakers. It doesn’t have to be just you as the expert. If you’re clear on the problems you’re trying to solve, you can bring in and curate the experts to solve them. Brad found an expert on e-commerce marketing and rather than hiring him as coach, he decided to start a mastermind and find more people who wanted to learn. The result was a successful mastermind and trip to China with $100 million worth of new business ideas generated from that mastermind group.

When Brad started Make More Marbles as a blog he wanted to reach a million people. That reach reach took 3 years. With Tony Robbins help two years ago, Brad’s company received a million views in 6 weeks. Last year, that went down to 72 hours. Now his passion and interest in the past year is not to focus on the number and reach, but how to impact people on a deeper level without Brad having to be in the driver’s seat with his business. Brad’s focus has been systematizing his business so people can get a great result. He started with his high ticket mastermind and reverse engineered the systems building low ticket offers, books, and $50-$100 courses, using those assets to liquidate ad spend. As a whole, the ad spend and income of low ticket breaks even, so the coaching, consulting and masterminds are all profit. His advice is to start from your high ticket offer because it’s just as much effort to sell a low ticket as a high ticket, especially in the beginning. Then, you build out your low ticket funnel. And now Brad and his team are really focused on the middle of the funnel, a 2K offer. In the middle range of offerings, Brad is still really involved, but the price is low enough that it can still be sold in an automated fashion without closing on sales calls. The middle funnel offer is the engine that allows growth and the company to scale.

Brad’s vision is to keep selling books and building little engines (middle funnel offers) to generate revenue. He’s in a good position with a partner who is great at building and with Brad’s skills to manage and maintain operations, he has a solid management team. Building something that’s never existed before is a spiritual journey that forces you to grow. You have to develop a mindset of never giving up. And Brad highly recommends being in masterminds with coaches to get inspired, be around people who are getting it done and it holds you to a higher standard.
